How to apply for Ryanair Cash Passport?

As at today’s date, Ryanair provide a link that doesn’t work, to top up a Ryanair Prepaid Card   http://www.cashpassport.com/ryanair

Despite extensive research, we cannot see where to apply for the card but we will monitor the situation and let you know.

Ryanair to start charging for use of prepaid cards

From the 1st November it seems Ryanair intends to charge £6 per flight per passenger for paying by any card online.

That amounts to a charge of £24 for two people booking a return trip.

The airline has announced that it will provide reimbursement in the form of £6 travel voucher(s) if they use the Ryanair Cash Passport card which is a prepaid card type.

Hidden costs of using a travel management company to book Ryanair

If you book Ryanair through a travel management company, you will pay a transaction fee of, typically £15 but, because the TMC will use their preferred credit card (and perhaps earn points or AirMiles!) you could end up paying more than you expect, for two return tickets:

Transaction Fee £15 per ticket £30
Ryanair Credit Card Fees £6 per sector £24
Total extra cost by using a travel management company £54

Because Ryanair don’t pay commission and because many agents are keen to maximise earnings there is always the temptation to “mark-up” the fare by an additional £20 ….

We trawled through the cards on offer through moneysupermarket.com.
We were enticed by offers such as “no application fee” but by reading the small print we were alarmed to find clauses such as:

Card issue fees applied of typically £10.00
PLUS monthly management fee of up to £3.95
A charge of up to 2.75% on purchases
A turnover limit of £650 per annum….

The best card in our opinion is from KALIXA with a one-off fee of EUR4.95
• No purchase fees
• No monthly management fee
• Load via internet free
• No maximum daily spend
